Promotions for property management experts

PMS has promoted two experienced employees to key leadership positions. Daniel Malone, who joined PMS Group eight years ago, is promoted to Managing Director and Liam Furr, who has worked for PMS for nine years, becomes Director of Property Management.

The PMS Group comprises two separate companies and manages a portfolio of more than 6,000 homes across East Anglia, London and the Southeast. With PMS committed to greater regulation of the property management industry, both Daniel and Liam are Members of the Institute of Residential Property Management and Associates of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Daniel Malone said:

“The commitment to training and development at PMS means that with dedication it is possible to advance within the business.  This should give a positive message to all employees wishing to progress as the company continues to grow.”

Daniel and Liam promote a strong team ethos within PMS and are equally ambitious in their desire to see the continued expansion of this local business across East Anglia, London and the Southeast.

Liam, 46, started his career with Ford, one of the early UK-based companies to embrace a customer service culture, and subsequently spent ten years working in Spain in hospitality and customer-focused roles.

When he returned to Essex in 2008, PMS invited him to work for the growing company. Liam explained: “I hadn’t intended to work in property management, but I find it genuinely interesting, you are dealing with real people, real property and real money.

“The industry has changed significantly in recent years – it is much more consumer driven and leaseholders are more empowered. There is an important educational process, as more people purchase properties in the leasehold sector and they don’t always fully understand the relationship between leaseholder and landlord.

“Our job is about managing expectations, providing good service, and ensuring their property is kept in good order and their money is well managed. I believe I’ve built up a skillset which combines technical knowledge of landlord and tenant laws with the ability to work with people, particularly those who may be experiencing problems.”

As head of PMS’ Property Management Department, Liam will oversee policy on property management, customer liaison, marketing and business development.
